At BFCU we understand that saving money is important, and we want to make that easier for you!
To help, BFCU has a new feature for our checking accounts.
Introducing Change Jar
Change Jar helps our members save money. Every time you shop, we’ll round up your spending to the next dollar and save that extra change. Now that’s smart saving made easy!
It doesn’t matter if you’re saving for a down payment, retirement, or a round-the-world vacation – everyone can benefit from saving just a little more each day.
So How Does It Work?
Upon enrollment, BFCU will round up all Barksdale Federal debit card purchases* to the nearest dollar and transfer the difference from your checking account to your savings account. Change Jar savings can go to almost any BFCU savings account**, and all rounded funds will be transferred in a single transaction once daily (see example below).

How do you sign up?
We think everyone could use a little extra change in their lives, so signing up for Change Jar is easy!
- You can sign in to Online Banking and fill out the Change Jar Opt-in form under Additional Services
- Call Member Services at 800-647-2328, option 4
- Visit your favorite BFCU center and ask to add to your checking account
*ATM transactions are not included in Change Jar transfers. Transactions included in Change Jar transfers are: signature based transactions, recurring debit card transactions and non-ATM pin based transactions.
**Signee must be a designated owner on the savings account. If the savings account designated for Change Jar is a Christmas Club, once the maximum balance limit is reached, funds will be transferred to the primary member’s Prime or Transaction Savings account.
